The Tosa jikiden Eishin-ryu Nakamura Branch is an Iaido dojo located in Shimanto City, in the Kochi Prefecture of Japan. This dojo is dedicated to the practice and preservation of Eishin-ryu, one of the traditional schools of Japanese swordsmanship, with a focus on Iaido – the art of drawing and cutting with a katana (Japanese sword).
At the Nakamura Branch, members of all ages, ranging from their 20s to 70s, come together to train in a supportive and friendly environment. The dojo currently has 15 active practitioners, and training is designed to be both enjoyable and challenging, providing opportunities for personal growth, discipline, and physical fitness.
The Nakamura Branch welcomes anyone interested in the art of Iaido, whether you’re drawn to it because of an interest in Japanese swords, a desire to learn about the rich Tosa culture that dates back to the Edo period, or simply as a way to improve your health and fitness.
Whether you’re motivated by the thrill of swinging a sword like a samurai or looking for a deeper connection to Japanese tradition, Iaido is accessible to everyone. No prior experience is necessary to start, and the dojo offers trial lessons with equipment available for beginners.
